About Us

Hi, my name is Kerri, and Jason and I live in Orpington, Kent about 2 miles from the M25, junction 4. We are both mad about all animals especially cats!

I have had cats (moggies) all of my life and have always wanted to breed. I have especially loved larger cats – having a special affinity for lions – after bottle feeding them in South Africa and returning every year to feed new cubs – it is the most amazing experience I have ever had! There are so many breeds out there that it is hard to choose just one – right – wrong! When you are introduced to a Pixie-bob – there is no other breed to compare! If you love the big paws of a lion or tiger just take a look at a polydactyl (many toed) Pixie-bob. Our gorgeous boy Manipi has seven toes.

We are only a very small cattery breeding our girls only once every year to 18 months – they are our babies so we want them to have fun too! We work closely with Donna (Alsoomse Pixie Bobs), as she is a foundation breeder/cattery in this country of this exceptional cat. The Pixie Bob is still rather rare and I feel privileged to have them and to work with wonderful people like Donna, Claire (Handle Pixie Bobs), Clare (Akecheta).

Hateya works to strict TICA guidelines and strives to continue the wonderful work already achieved in the bloodlines we have received.

Hateya (I pronounce it Hat-ay-ah) is Native American and it means Footprints in the Sand. The poem Footprints in the Sand means a great deal to me, as it was the poem that my sister asked to be read at her funeral. Vicki died 7th July 2004 of lung cancer at the age of 38. This is my way of honouring her memory.
